🔥 COASTAL CAROLINA SCORES FIRST | COASTAL: 2, ARIZONA 0

Coastal Carolina has scored the first two runs of the 2025 Men's College World Series.

After three consecutive singles to load the bases, Arizona right-hander Owen Kramkowski struck out the Chanticleers' designated hitter Dean Mihos, center fielder Wells Sykes ripped a two-RBI single to left center. The hit scored first baseman Colby Thorndyke and right fielder Blagen Pado. 

Coastal Carolina is 34-2 when scoring first this season, second-best in DI. Arizona is 13-7 when its opponent scores first this season, 6th-best in DI.

❌ Bodine throws out Arizona's Summerhill | COASTAL: 0, ARIZONA 0

Coastal Carolina's Caden Bodine wasted no time throwing out his first runner.

The Buster Posey finalist and junior catcher caught Arizona right fielder Brendan Summerhill stealing in the first inning. It was his 18th of the season, and 45th of his career — one shy of tying the program record (46 by Matt Beaird).

The out ended the top of the first.

🍿 MCWS Game 1 is almost here

The greatest show on dirt is finally here.

The first pitch of Game 1 for the Men's College World Series will be in 15 minutes. Arizona and Coastal Carolina will face each other for the first time since 2016 — a rematch of the 2016 MCWS. The two teams will play the winner and loser of Game 2 this evening between Louisville and Oregon State. 

Three of the coaches competing today are making their first MCWS appearance as a head coach in Arizona's Chip Hale, Coastal Carolina's Kevin Schnall and Oregon State's Mitch Canham.

The 2025 DI baseball national championship marks the 78th edition of the Men’s College World Series dating back to 194. Tennessee became the first No. 1 overall seed in over a decade to win it all last season, beating Texas A&M 6-5 to secure its first-ever title.
