The votes are in: Kentucky is your college basketball Team of the Decade

College basketball rankings: Andy Katz's latest Power 36, 200 days out from Selection Sunday

The votes are in. You, the fans, have voted the Kentucky Wildcats as the College Basketball Team of the Decade champions.

A total of 43,192 people voted in , crowning No. 1 Kentucky 鈥 with a starting five of John Wall, Devin Booker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns 鈥 over No. 7 Purdue with 61 percent of the vote.

We wondered 鈥 who are the best teams over the past decade? Over the past few weeks, you have helped us decide. Like any 草莓网站在线看 tournament, there have been upsets and matchups that come down to the wire across social media.

After the Elite Eight, Michigan State, Kentucky, Purdue and UConn advanced to the Final Four. 

Final Four voting concluded with Kentucky knocking off Michigan State and Purdue edging UConn for the remaining spot in the Team of the Decade national championship. And then the Wildcats knocked out the Boilermakers for the top spot.

To crown a champion, your help was needed.

Voting was done on the Twitter account. Primary tallies were calculated there. Like the Final Four polls, voting for the national championship was extended to three days, an additional 24 hours from the first four rounds of competition. Voting also took place in March Madness Instagram & Facebook Stories. Those results were going to serve as a tiebreaker if needed.
