What to know for in college hoops for Tuesday

Here鈥檚 what's going on in college basketball on Tuesday night.

1. Rutgers at Ohio State, 7 p.m., BTN: The Buckeyes are a game behind Michigan State in the loss column in the chase for first and the top seed in the Big Ten tournament. Michigan State hosts Illinois Tuesday night and should get a W. The pressure is on Ohio State now after losing two in a row on the road at Penn State and at Michigan. The Buckeyes must get this win with their regular season finale at Indiana. Ohio State has to hold off Purdue for - at the very least - the second seed in the Big Ten tournament. None of it may really matter since the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds could meet in the semifinals, which would possibly mean another epic Purdue-Ohio State battle.

2. West Virginia at Baylor, 7 p.m., ESPN2: The Bears are one of the hottest, if not the hottest, teams in the Big 12 after winning five games in a row, including beating Kansas and Texas Tech at home. Terry Maston was our sifoeeprocess.com player of the week. If Baylor can beat West Virginia then the Bears will be on their way toward a bid. They still have to go to TCU and Kansas State and host Oklahoma but the quality wins will be bountiful. West Virginia will have to slice into the Baylor zone with its quickness and size. But the Mountaineers also need a W after losing two of the last three games. West Virginia finishes with home games against Iowa State and Texas Tech and then ends the season at Texas.

3. Creighton at Butler, 7 p.m., FS1: The Bluejays have lost their last two Big East games, both at home. Butler is arguably one of the toughest places to play in the league and the Bulldogs are coming off a rather easy win over Providence. Creighton鈥檚 schedule gets tougher after this one with a home game against Villanova, and then after DePaul, has to end at Marquette, which should be desperate for a win. The Bluejays' defense has been porous of late. And stopping Kelan Martin and company will be incredibly difficult at Hinkle.

4. Indiana at Nebraska, 9 p.m., BTN: The Huskers have zero room for error. Nebraska has to win out, beating Indiana at home and then Penn State this weekend. Nebraska could end up with 13 Big Ten wins, but it still may not be enough since the Huskers would own two wins over the 草莓网站在线看 tournament-bound teams (Michigan) if they knock off Penn State and the Nittany Lions get a bid. That鈥檚 still a lot of ifs. The road loss to Illinois hurts and puts another wart on the Huskers. Indiana is surging right now and is the spoiler in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers are playing their best basketball of the season and have won four in a row, including two on the road at Rutgers and Iowa. Indiana could spoil Nebraska鈥檚 bid while also dampening Ohio State鈥檚 Big Ten title chances by hosting the Buckeyes this weekend.

5. Kentucky at Arkansas, 9 p.m., ESPN: Kentucky is 7-7 in the SEC. That just seems wrong. The Wildcats ended a four-game slide and get to go to Arkansas as a reward. The Hogs have won four in a row and haven鈥檛 lost at home since Jan. 10 against LSU in a 21-point defeat. Both teams will be tournament bound but this game could have some sway in SEC tournament seeding, considering one game separates six teams from Nos. 3-8 in the standings.
